Frequently asked questions

What is the main task the students would be working on?
The main task for students in this research project is to optimize inferences for Saleszilla's small AI model on CPU architecture, as opposed to GPU. This involves enhancing the efficiency and performance of running inferences using a specific AI model.
What are some learning outcomes and benefits of this project?
Participating in this project could yield valuable learning outcomes and benefits, such as gaining hands-on experience with AI research, working on real-world industry projects, honing skills in transformers models and attention mechanisms, and collaborating with professionals from Saleszilla.

The project could also provide insights into CPU optimization techniques and offer exposure to advanced AI architectures.

You will likely use programming languages such as Python, popular ML frameworks such as Keras, Torch, Tensorflow, Langchain, and ML deployment infrastructures such as AWS and GCP.
How can I participate in the research project?
To register, just click the 'Register' button below and fill out the corresponding google form.
I have no experience. Can I still come?
This project is for all students with some experience in AI and ML projects. We plan to have workshops and on-site mentors to support you.
Will there be prizes for the winners?
Yes, a prize of 20,000 CAD will be awarded to the winning team of the competition. The project will be selected and deployed by the company and the winners will also have a chance to be hired by the company.
